The management of the Lasher Funeral Home has tried to find a full-time Funeral Director to assume the day to day operations of the firm since the death of Kenneth Petersen in May 2019. Ken and his predecessors Robert Boyd and Victor Lasher have had a sterling reputation for serving the families of Woodstock for generations. The management team has approached the Wilsey Family and asked them to carry on this legacy of service to the families of Woodstock. The Wilsey Family are third and fourth generation Funeral Directors with more than 96 years of service to their communities. Jack, Mark, and Eric Wilsey own and operate the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home in Saugerties bordering the East of Woodstock, and the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home bordering the West of Woodstock. Although unable to purchase and staff the Woodstock location, the close geographic proximity of the two current firms will conveniently be able to serve local families. The Wilsey Family has been entrusted with the complete historical funeral records and all arranged-in-advance funeral records that both Bob and Ken had established.
